Born from a Love of the Spanish Guitar
Kraken Tuning Machines—better known as Kraken Tuners—was born from a deep love of flamenco and the Spanish classical guitar.
By combining decades of experience in manufacturing, mechanical design, and precision engineering with a genuine understanding of the instrument, we set out to create exceptional tuning machines for luthiers and guitarists around the world.
Every component—right down to the smallest screw—is carefully designed and precision-machined from premium materials. Each set is then assembled and inspected by hand in Málaga, Spain, with close attention to feel, performance, reliability, and lasting beauty.
Our goal is simple: to offer beautifully engineered tuning machines at a fair and accessible price, without ever compromising quality or precision. As Kraken continues to grow, we look forward to introducing new designs, materials, finishes, and customization
options for builders and players alike.
Meet the Founder
My name is Rob Wee. I’m an American who moved to Málaga, Spain, in 2025 to pursue my lifelong love of flamenco and the Spanish classical guitar.
Before founding Kraken Tuners, I spent more than 15 years as the CEO with Kraken RC. That experience gave me an extensive background in precision manufacturing, mechanical design, product development, and the challenge of turning an idea into something that performs beautifully in the real world.
But my first love has always been the Spanish guitar.
In March 2026, I completed my first flamenco guitar under the guidance of master guitar maker Pablo Requena. Building the instrument by hand gave me an even deeper appreciation for the skill, patience, and dedication that every luthier brings to their work. It also strengthened my desire to create tuning machines worthy of the guitars they build.
Kraken Tuners brings these two parts of my life together: precision engineering and a passion for the Spanish guitar. My aim is to make tuning machines of the highest possible quality—refined, dependable, and built to last—while keeping them within reach of working luthiers and serious guitarists.
Kraken is still a young company, and I’m personally involved in every step of the journey. I’m always happy to hear from builders, players, and fellow lovers of the guitar.
